Olivia getting ready for the toothfairy to come. I wasn't exactly prepared for this so soon & didn't have her own special pillow for it. We ended up putting the tooth in its special treasure chest from the dentist on her dresser. She didn't want to go to sleep though. At 3 1/2 years old, she was a little confused I think, on the whole concept. I think it actually freaked her out that some fairy was going to come visit. She had quite a few tears that she wanted the tooth to go back into her mouth and just wouldn't believe me that another tooth would grow back. In the morning, she was excited to find the note from the tooth fairy where the tooth once was. It was even sprinkled with pink glitter. She was so excited! And under her pillow was $5!

Olivia's first tooth fairy visit
Olivia had her first visit from the tooth fairy, but unfortunately not because she lost a tooth. She had to have one pulled :( Long story short, when we lived in Albuquerque, she hit her mouth on a ledge & from that deadened a tooth. We took her to the dentist a year ago b/c we thought it wasn't looking right but he told us that he would leave it & wait until it fell out on its own. But, over time it had cracked & didn't look so nice. I took her in & it was infected & nothing they could do to save it, so had it pulled. Poor thing. She had never complained about it. I don't know who the dentist visit was harder for-me or Olivia. I wasn't allowed to be with her in the room at all so sat in the waiting room for over an hour while she had her teeth cleaned, xrayed, & then the tooth pulled. Olivia came out to the waiting room w/ the dental assistant & looked as sad as she does in this picture. Broke my heart, but the dental assistant said she did a fantastic job & was exceptionally good. She even went to daycare after she had a fit that I was going to stay home with her & she wanted to go play with her friends. Glad she recovered fast :)
