1st Anniversary

Pat and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary today. It has been a busy but wonderful year, with the highlight being becoming parents to Olivia.
Tonight we got a babysitter for Olivia (thanks again Jerry & Nadine) and went out for a nice dinner at Seasons in Old Town. Even though it's only been two months, we had kind of forgotten what it was like for just the two of us to get away. We took advantage of it and enjoyed a very nice evening out.
Pat also surprised me today with an anniversary vacation/2nd honeymoon to Costa Rica next Spring! I was shocked! I was there 10 years ago and spent 2 months at a Spanish language school and have always wanted to go back. It is such a beautiful country. Now we've been busy looking at packages and planning our trip. What a wonderful husband Pat is!

At the office

Pat and I were planning that I'd be going back to work in his office and Olivia would come along, but she has different plans. Here she's really content, but normally doesn't do so well. We even bring her bouncer and floor mat, which she loves at home, but she would rather just be held at the office. Makes it a little tough to get things done!

Mr. Mom

I don't even know if I should be posting what happened tonight, and maybe it should be kept within Pat and I, but here goes. Today was Pat's first day of watching Olivia all day and night without me. A true test! I was painting in his office all day/night (I went through 5 gallons-good thing I know a good chiropractor!). He did have her there during the day trying to get his notes caught up, but she wasn't about to be put down to let him get anything done, so he left by about 5 with her. At 8PM I called him back to the office to keep me company. Not thinking he'd need the diaper bag and bottle, he shows up with a very hungry Olivia. So he goes home, gets a bottle, and is back at the office feeding her. He then realizes that the little peeing machine is wet and has used all the diapers out of the bag from during the day. He doesn't want to go back home again, so he's scrambling through the bag looking for one that may be hiding, because at this point Olivia is not happy with a wet diaper. But good thing Pat has his "survival skills" has he called it, because he's coming down the hallway a very proud dad and says, "Well honey, I officially put on my daughter's first and last maxi pad." He found one in the bag from the hospital and used that. I about died. He snapped her onesie over her pants to help keep it in place. (It's a little hard to tell in the picture, b/c they're both pink, and it's probably a little hard to believe he actually did it, but there's the proof.) His little creation did work. She stopped crying and it was another hour before we got home, but she stayed dry. He was bound and determined to write the maxipad company if she did pee and it held up because he was going to make alot of money using his idea on a commercial. Yikes! Good thing tomorrow is football and he can go back to drinking beer and I'll have her!

Pretty as a Princess

This is the dress I had bought for Olivia's newborn pictures but at the time it drowned her so she couldn't wear it. She fits into it now so of course I had to have my own little photo session of how pretty she is in it.
She is smiling so much more now and is so alert. Pat and her even have a little thing together that she's learned. If he sticks his tongue out at her, she'll usually do it back. It's so cute, but it'll probably come back to bite us later on! I was trying to capture a picture of her doing it, but just got the one while I was changing her.

Made With Love

Our nieces and nephews on the Froehlich side all made Olivia a bunch of onesies, bibs, and burb towels this summer. They used craft paint and put their minds to work! There are a variety of sizes on the onesies so she will be able to enjoy them for quite awile! Thank you to cousins Chloe, Caden, Gwen, Kate, Jason, Jackson, Grace, Elizabeth, and Lily (and all the help from her aunts and Grandma Froehlich!) Olivia is sporting one of the onsies today.

Go Bears!

Today was our first Sunday football party at Chris and Maria's. Pat is in a fantasy football league with a bunch of our friends and we take turns hosting the party every Sunday. Since Pat and Chris are Bears fans, we dressed up Olivia & his son Brayden to cheer them on (& taunt the Broncos, Raiders, and Cowboys fans present).

Holli and Jodie Visit

Two of my good friends Holli and Jodie came to visit last weekend. They got to meet Olivia and we also did some tourist things. The pictures are of the tram ride through the Sandia Mts. We were going to hike to the crest once we got off it, and got about 15 minutes into it and decided we had enough!

Bad Hair Day!

Olivia's hair is just out of control these days! We have pretty much given up on combing it but we think it is so cute! When it's wet there's a little curl to it so hopefully it'll grow out that way.
