Children's Museum

The girls and I, along with my friend Paula & her 2 kids, Parker & Tessa went to the Children's Museum for the day on Sunday. It was a cold blistery day & busy with all 4 kids, but very fun. We've never been there and will definitely be back! We got caught up in the water room & craft room so didn't make it through all the stations. Just more to look forward to for the next trip!

Olivia in the water room (& yes-that's our mound of stuff covering the stroller in the background)

Olivia had so much fun in the little grocery store-I think it was her favorite!

Olivia and I getting ready

Olivia LOVES putting on my make-up so getting ready for church, she had one side of the mirror and I the other while she filled her face with powder :)

First Snow Day

We FINALLY had our first day of enough snow to go out and play in it! Olivia's been asking since I think October about when the snow's coming to play in it. It wasn't sticky enough to build a snowman, but we had fun having a snow ball fight and making snow angels!

Cora 7 months

Cora is 7 months old! The biggest change is that her first word (it's her first word to me-probably really just her first sound) was Mamamama! Brought a tear to my eye first time I heard it. Olivia's was dadada so I thought this was pretty cool. She now baby talks quite a bit and knows her name. She lights up when you say it! She isn't quite sitting up on her own but getting closer. I suppose you have to put her down to do this-I'm loving having a cuddler! Cora still wakes us up one time during the night so still working on getting her to sleep all the way through. She's been eating baby food like crazy. Pretty much loves all her fruits and veggies except for anything green-peas & beans. Olivia was the same way too. I think her favorite is sweet potatoes-wait until she's old enough to have Grandma Driscoll's! We just got over her first ear infection last week but she's such a happy baby that if it weren't for not getting rid of her fever, we would have never known.

As happy & smiley a baby as she is, Cora just won't smile for the camera very often-all too much like her sister. And, it was hard for me to get any pictures by herself anyway because Little Miss Jealousy wanted to be in them all. But that's ok-Olivia loves her little sister quite a bit!

Finally caught up again

That seems to be the title of alot of my posts lately. With starting my new job and going back to school, it sort of takes the back burner. I am still going to keep up with it, but it may be getting caught up once a month or something. I did date all the posts to reflect the dates, and to make it look like I'm on top of things :)
The girls are adjusting very well to daycare-since day 1 really. Olivia has made alot of new friends and absolutely loves Anne (the dc provider). She even has her first little crush there-Aiden. At home, he's her imaginary friend and she chases him all over the house. The other day in her room, I heard her telling Aiden a few times that she was going to kiss him, and then proceeded to make kissing noises. Oh boy! She keeps us very busy & is still quite active! Cora is sweet as can be & laughs and giggles all the time. She is the most easy going, cuddly, happy, go lucky baby. The kids just dote over her at daycare. I don't think she gets much sleep there-sounds like she doesn't want to miss out on anything.
That's about it for now-gotta get the girls in bed and finish my homework. Will try to get things on sooner, but don't expect it!

Family Fun Fair

Pat had a booth for his Chiropractic office at a Family Fun Fair today so the girls and I went to go check it out. It was Olivia's first experience with a clown. She clung to me the whole time-wouldn't let me put her down even if the clown was on the other side of the room. Before leaving, she did decide that maybe she could get a flower balloon from him if I were carrying her. We waited in line for awhile, which helped ease her anxiety. Once it was her turn, and after alot of convincing, we got this picture with him. But, notice she still kept her distance!

Olivia went up the stairs for the slide inflatable, and then she came back down the stairs-wasn't about to go down the slide I guess! (takes after her Aunt Michaela at the water park-waiting in line 45 minutes only to chicken out at the top ;) )

Fun to compare

Olivia-Valentine's Day 2009
Cora and Olivia are almost exactly 3 years apart (July 24th & August 4th) so I thought it would be fun to compare their pics with the same outfit on. Blue eyes, blonde hair, and both drooling I think are their only similarities!
Cora-Valentine's Day 2012

Happy Valentine's Day!

Pat was very good to his girls for Valentine's Day. When I got home from work, he had the girls picked up from daycare, dinner cooking, and lots of fun gifts on the table-a dozen roses, necklace, and a Scentsy warmer for me, and stuffed animals and balloons for the girls. We love him so much!!

Cora's first Valentine's Day
Olivia and Cora were spoiled with rain boots and a V-Day stuffed animal from G & G Driscoll, and money from G & G Froehlich and also Aunt Jayna, Uncle Joe, Gwen, & Kate.

My Disney Princess

Olivia and I went to the Disney Princeses Live at the arena. I don't know who had more fun-me having a special day with Olivia or her seeing her favorite Princesses live. I have been waiting to do this kind of stuff since before she was born! Olivia had seen the advertisements for it on tv & she kept asking me-"Mom- do we have that one?" I explained that it was a real show & that we were going to see them-she was so excited, but was a little worried about the 'mean witch' on Snow White. After I got the tickets I asked her the next day if she remembered who we were going to see, and she says "We're going to see the Princesses at Disneyland!!!" Good thing she's 3 and has no idea the difference b/w Disneyland and the Sioux Falls Arena. To her it was all the same thing :) It was a very entertaining show & had her attention the whole time. She got to see Mickey & Minnie, Donald, and Goofy-they all opened the show and told little parts of the 3 stories. Then for the princesses, there was excerpts from Cinderella, Snow White, and Beauty and the Beast. It was one magical day!

Grandma Driscoll felt bad she couldn't make it so sent Olivia money to buy a souvenir and she picked out this fun magic Princess wand.

Pat's 40th

Pat has turned the big 4-0! To celebrate, we had some dinner and cake with the girls. We then went out to eat at BW3s with friends Paula and Dave and had a few beers. I think he was getting a little disappointed that we didn't want to stay out late but little did he know that I had a surprise birthday party for him the next night with friends at the 18th Amendment. G & G Driscoll had come down to watch all the kids for us. (Thank you!) I pulled it off without him even thinking anything was going on. His brother Bill drove over from Des Moines, which was also alot of fun to surprise him with. Luckily for the both of us he only turns 40 once-it was a fun night but long day on Sunday!
Pat and Dave (Friday night on Pat's birthday)-beings that Dave is already 40, they both started talking about all the fun things they were going to do & places they were going. The conversation leaded to them having their own Bucket List. Then it went further and they started calling each other Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. It was quite comical.
