I don't even know if I should be posting what happened tonight, and maybe it should be kept within Pat and I, but here goes. Today was Pat's first day of watching Olivia all day and night without me. A true test! I was painting in his office all day/night (I went through 5 gallons-good thing I know a good chiropractor!). He did have her there during the day trying to get his notes caught up, but she wasn't about to be put down to let him get anything done, so he left by about 5 with her. At 8PM I called him back to the office to keep me company. Not thinking he'd need the diaper bag and bottle, he shows up with a very hungry Olivia. So he goes home, gets a bottle, and is back at the office feeding her. He then realizes that the little peeing machine is wet and has used all the diapers out of the bag from during the day. He doesn't want to go back home again, so he's scrambling through the bag looking for one that may be hiding, because at this point Olivia is not happy with a wet diaper. But good thing Pat has his "survival skills" has he called it, because he's coming down the hallway a very proud dad and says, "Well honey, I officially put on my daughter's first and last maxi pad." He found one in the bag from the hospital and used that. I about died. He snapped her onesie over her pants to help keep it in place. (It's a little hard to tell in the picture, b/c they're both pink, and it's probably a little hard to believe he actually did it, but there's the proof.) His little creation did work. She stopped crying and it was another hour before we got home, but she stayed dry. He was bound and determined to write the maxipad company if she did pee and it held up because he was going to make alot of money using his idea on a commercial. Yikes! Good thing tomorrow is football and he can go back to drinking beer and I'll have her!
