Opening pheasant weekend

We spent last weekend in SD pheasant hunting with my family. We stayed at my aunt Jill's and everybody was there for the big annual opener weekend in SD. Pat got his license too and got a few birds amongst the many that were shot by everybody. It was great to see my whole family again and get Olivia together with the cousins-they always have so much fun. We also got to celebrate a little early for Grandpa Driscoll's birthday-Happy Birthday Papa!

Hunting is like another holiday here

On Sunday, all of us girls drove down to the fields where the guys were hunting and watched them walk the fields for awhile.
Olivia loved the pheasants-here she is pulling the feathers out of the pheasants.

And now she is trying to put the feathers back in.

Olivia's 'new' playset

A couple weeks ago I found an ad on Craigslist for this playset. They were giving it away for free-the catch was you had to take it apart and haul it away. So, Pat being the awesome dad that he is, worked on taking this apart for a couple hours while getting eaten alive by what really should be the state bird here--the mosquitos. But, he got it back together at home and did a great job. Olivia absolutely loves it!

Pumpkin Patch

It was a beautiful fall day here today, and just perfect for the Pumpkin Patch outside of New Ulm.
Olivia saw this boy trying to roll the pumpkins, so that's what she did the whole time. We didn't end up taking one home-by the looks of them, I think they had been picked over.
We finally got Olivia to cooperate for the camera and to sit on this big pumpkin-on the pretty side, and smile, and my camera went dead. Go figure.
We ran into a couple of the kids at Olivia's daycare-Graham & Kalyn. They just got their hair sprayed and fixed wild. As cute and festive as it is, I am so thankful that Olivia didn't ask for it to be done with her hair!

Girl's Night

My good college friends and I met up for the night at Holli's in Minneapolis. It's been a couple years since we've all been able to get together. We went out for dinner, told stories, and laughed until it hurt. And then we went back to Holli's and did it all over again. It was such a great time to see the girls again. I'm lucky to have such awesome friends!

We love you Grandma Evelyn

Last Friday, Pat's Grandma Evelyn Froehlich Davidson past away at the age of 89. Eveyln lived a full and wonderful life. She is the mother to 12 children and has 1 step-daughter; grandmother to 42 grandkids and 3 step-grandkids; and great-grandmother to 67 great-grandkids and 3 step great-grandkids. Seeing all the friends and family come together to celebrate Evelyn's life was quite amazing. You will be missed Evelyn.
